How do you "Ignore" someone?

August 17th, 2006 at 02:54 pm

I read a comment in Ima's blog that someone was set up to ignore entries from another blogger. Can anyone explain to me how to do that? Thanks.

I'm not sure how to set Ignore, but this is what I've done--it might help you. I have an account over at Bloglines.com, and subscribed to the blogs I don't want to miss. Then when I have a busy day, I just read the ones I have set up in Bloglines and skip the rest. When I have extra time I come over to the main site and catch up on everyone else. (I'm subscribed to yours, BTW. Smile)

If you look at the bottom of each blogger's page, you'll see an orange RSS block. If you click on it, you'll get a page of code. That's the page you subscribe to through Bloglines (or whatever feed reader you want to use.)

I don't know about the blogs, but you can set the forums to ignore a poster. What that means is that you will not see what the ignored individual posts, but the setting applies only to you. Others will see the posts. What you see is a line notice that the individual posted and is ignored.

To do this, right click on the individual's name, select "view public profile." That will open a new window showing the person's profile. On the right side of the page below the name there's an option to add the individual to your ignore list.

Never done it myself, but I'm aware of the feature in the forum software.
